The Duxbury Police Department is committed to community outreach. Our Crisis Intervention Team works with individuals and families who have behavior health needs, elder services, developmental disabilities, and substance abuse issues.  This page is dedicated to our efforts and is maintained by our Crisis Intervention Team. 

The Town of Duxbury is funding a free and confidential community mental health and substance use navigator program though Care Solas. Click here for more information, services are available 24/7.

Crisis Intervention Team Mission

The Duxbury Police Department Crisis Intervention Team is committed to providing a professional, compassionate, and specialized police response to behavioral health consumers, persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. We believe in the dignity of all people and strive for collaboration while improving outcomes for consumers, reducing demands on police resources, and improving safety for officers, consumers and the community.

Crisis Intervention Team Values

Prevention: We believe in identifying the underlying issues creating police calls and reducing them.
Collaboration: We understand that working together is key to providing the best possible services to our consumers. We constantly work to expand our network of partners in healthcare, public safety, government, and academia.
Diversion: We strive to connect individuals with behavioral health services with the goal of reducing involvement in the criminal justice system.
Professional Development: We continuously work to improve our skills and learn more about all aspects of behavioral health and to share our knowledge and experience with the Department at large.        

     We are have joined hundreds of police departments nationwide who have taken the International Chief's of Police "One Mind" campaign pledge.

Crisis Intervention Team Officers are on hand to assist you, a friend, or a loved one in any way they can to get you the help you need. Need help navigating resources? We can help. Whether it be over the phone or in person. We are also able to meet with you in uniform or discreetly out of uniform.
