DPD Joins Project Outreach

Project outreach

On July 1st, 2016 the Duxbury Police Department joined a new regional program called “Project Outreach”. This is a consortium of Public Safety and Public Health Agencies has been created to respond to the  ever growing number of opiate overdoses. Project outreach brings healthcare providers to the doorstep of an overdose victim’s home in an effort to get them treatment as soon as possible.

This program does not only work with individuals that overdose on opiates. A component of the program is to prevention. At the Duxbury Police Department our Crisis Intervention Team is the primary point of contact for Project Outreach. The crisis intervention team works with the healthcare providers that are part of Project Outreach to help individuals and their families with obtaining treatment.
