Sergeant Dennis Symmonds Retires after 46 years of service to the Town of Duxbury

On July 9th, 2020 Sergeant Dennis Symmonds retired from the Town of Duxbury after over 46 years of service. He served as a Duxbury Firefighter at the beginning of his tenure with the Town then became a police officer. He has served in numerous capacities such as Detective Sergeant, motorcycle officer, METRO-Mobile Operations, DARE Officer, and more. During his retirement ceremony he was given citations from the Massachusetts State House recognizing his years of service and commitment to the Town of Duxbury. During Sgt. Symmonds speech he was very thankful to the residents of Duxbury, the police department, fire department, and 911-dispatchers. He also spoke of Remy, an amazing young boy who is the Captain of the DPD Cops for Kids with Cancer Boston Marathon Team.
