Duxbury Police K-9 Locates Man in Mental Health Crisis

Duxbury – March 5, 2020

On Tuesday evening Duxbury Police were called to Union Bridge Rd. home for a
report of a man having mental health issues. Upon arrival at the home officers
engaged in a brief standoff as the man refused to come to the door or
communicate with them. Officers from Marshfield and Pembroke as well as
Duxbury Police K-9 Officer Stephen Hall responded to the scene. Entry was
made into the home and it was determined that the man had fled the home
prior to the arrival of the additional units. Officer Hall began a search of the
area with K-9 Sirk and quickly located the man hiding under a dock in a nearby
pond. The man did not resist and after a physical evaluation by Duxbury Fire
Department personnel he was transported to the hospital for evaluation. Due to
the nature of the incident the individual will not be identified and no criminal
charges are expected to be filed.
