The Dredging of Duxbury Bay is Complete 

Waterfront Project Facts:

Federal Project- 21 acre anchorage, 8 foot controlling depth, and the ½ mile entrance channel 100 feet wide, 8 foot controlling depth. Both project limits have a 1 foot over draft to 9 feet.
Authorized by Congress in 1945. Project 1945 estimated cost: $350,000.00. Local share: $70,000.00 shared by State and Town of Duxbury
Last time maintenance dredged 1996-97 by Army Corps of Engineers. Before that 1976-77.
 Local piggy back projects also dredged 1996-97
2015-16 ACOE maintenance dredge project:

-          Project estimate cost 4.8 million

-          Project limit- dredge material removal: estimate 180 thousand cubic yards anchorage, 45 thousand cubic yards entrance channel.

-          Dredge disposal site: Cape Cod Bay Disposal Site. Also used in 1996-97. Tug and Tow trip to disposal sight takes approx 6 hours in perfect weather

   Contractors: Cashman and Burnham J/V 

2015-16 local piggy back maintenance dredging projects, include: Town Pier / Floats and Landing, Battelle Labs, Bayside Marine Inc, Duxbury Bay Maritime School, Duxbury Yacht Club.

-          Projects estimated costs: $600,000.00

-          Projects limits-dredge material removal: estimate 16 thousand cubic yards.          

-          Dredge disposal site: Cape Cod Bay Disposal Site.

  Contractor: Cashman / Burnham J/V.

Deep water anchorage and Basin flats mooring fields have been  re-engineered / re-designed in 2016
Snug Harbor Anchorage:

-          Deep water moorings count: 160

-          Basin Flats moorings : 426
