Carver Woman Arrested for OUI 3rd Offense Assaults Officers

Duxbury Police arrested Debra Titus (62) of Carver Tuesday evening, charging her with OUI 3rd offense as well as assault and battery on a police officer. Police were called to a local restaurant after the establishment refused to serve Titus when she arrived, believing her to be intoxicated. On police arrival she was found outside her running vehicle located in the middle of the parking lot. Titus was observed as the operator/lone occupant of the vehicle. Following a brief investigation at the scene officers learned that she was operating the vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. She was placed under arrest for operating under the influence of alcohol (3rd offense) and operating after suspension. Titus became combative. She bit an officer who was trying to secure her seat belt in the transporting police vehicle and was assaultive back at the station during booking leading to the additional charge of assault and battery on a police officer. She was arraigned Wednesday morning at Plymouth District Court. None of the officers involved sustained injury during the incident.
