House Struck By Bullet

House Struck by Bullet Duxbury –

Duxbury Police responded to a report of a home struck by a bullet, on Chandler St., shortly before Noon today. Upon arrival, Officers found a bullet and observed where the homeowner said it had come through an exterior wall. While canvassing the area for witnesses, one of the responding Officers identified the source of the bullet. A next door neighbor admitted to firing the bullet and accidentally striking the house. Michael Dennett, 64, of 38 Chandler St. will be charged with Discharging a Firearm within 500 ft. of an Occupied Dwelling / 150 ft. of a Roadway, Two Counts of Improper Storage of a Firearm, and Wanton Destruction of Property. Dennett’s Firearms License was immediately suspended and his Firearms and Ammunition seized. Due to the proximity to Chandler Elementary School, today’s early dismissal was delayed for a short time until the Police Department determined that there was no further threat to the students.
