Duxbury Police and Duxbury Fire along with Kingston Police & Fire hosted a Mass Casualty Act of Violence-Rapid Casualty Care Protocol workshop today (3/15/16) at the Kingston Mall for the SE Mass Police & Fire Chiefs.

The Plymouth County Police & Fire Chief’s Active Shooter/Casualty Care Task Force presented a draft policy, presentation and live demonstration of a recommended standard operating guideline to assist agencies in planning for and responding to a Mass Casualty Act of Violence.

The overall goal of this workshop was to discuss and present an outline of response tactics that multiple agencies (Police & Fire/EMS) can utilize to enable an expedited response, expedited access to victims, expedited triage/treatment of victims and expedited transportation to definitive medical care.Time is critical in an event of this nature and these tactics are designed to minimize the amount of time that victims are without critical medical attention.
