K9 Delta and Handler Officer Ryan Cavicchi

Following the retirement of Canine Officer Zar in September of 2013, Delta, a 9 month old Dutch Sheppard, was selected to become the department’s next Canine.

Delta began the rigorous canine certification program in September of 2013. Delta successfully completed the training in January and hit the streets of Duxbury on January 28, 2014.

Delta was called into service early as he was deployed for crowd control duties at the Red Sox World Series clinching win in late October. Delta had a very successful career and was a valuable asset to the Town

of Duxbury, he retired in August of 2017.
