Storm update 10/27/21 from Duxbury Town Manager Rene Read

Dear Duxbury residents,
As of 4 o'clock this afternoon, approximately 94% of the Town of Duxbury is without power. After consultation with Eversource, we have determined that this is a multi day power restoration effort. The removal of trees from roadways and overhead wires is a first priority. Once that has been completed, power lines will be addressed and restoring  power to them.

Night time driving this evening is strongly discouraged due to the large amount of debris still in the roadways. Our crews are working around-the-clock to make the roads safe for passage.
Town Hall will be closed tomorrow Thursday October 28th.

We will provide updates on reopening once we know more tomorrow.  The Transfer Station will be closed until power can be restored to the facility as well.

A warming center will be set up if needed and additional details will be provided should that occur. The Police Department and Fire Department (Station 1) are available for people to charge their electronic devices. Again, we strongly advise people to stay off the roads during nighttime for their safety and the safety of others.

Thanks so much for your cooperation and please stay safe!
