K-9 Sirk and Officer Hall

Duxbury, MA – 3/4/2018

Just after 9pm on Thursday, February 28, 2019 Duxbury Police received a 911 call from a home reporting an ongoing domestic assault. As Officers arrived on scene the suspect fled on foot out the back door. The individual was reported to be under the influence of alcohol and prescription medication and had a mental health condition. K-9 Sirk and his handler Officer Hall began a track. Assisted by Officer Tougas, they tracked the suspect for over a mile through the woods, cranberry bogs, and over a fence that bordered route 3. Once they encountered him he made suicidal statements. Officers Hall and Tougas were able to de-escalate the situation and calm him down. He was taken into custody and transported to the hospital for treatment.
