DPD 2018 Citizen's Police Academy Graduates!

Congratulations to the DPD Citizen’s Police Academy Class of 2018! Their graduation took place on June 14th, 2018 at the Duxbury Senior Center.

Over the course of the 11 week program, the citizens dedicated their time to learning more about operations at their local law enforcement agency. Topics covered throughout the academy included Patrol Procedures, Firearms, Tasers, Use of Force, Scams, Fraud, Identity Theft, Forensics, Investigations, and more. Additionally, the academy traveled to various locations throughout the three months, including the Duxbury Harbormaster, Regional Old Colony Communications Center, Massachusetts State Police Air Wing, The Plymouth County Sheriff's Department, the Plymouth County House of Corrections, and the MPTC Plymouth Police Academy.

Thank you to Plymouth County District Attorney Tim Cruz, Karen Barry from The Plymouth County Sheriff's Department, Town Manager Rene Reed, and Rep. Josh Cutler for speaking at the ceremony. Lastly, thank you to Officer Glenn Gillan from the Boston Police Gaelic Column of Pipes and Drums for attending.
