Cops for Kids with Cancer Donates $5000 to Duxbury Family

Donation to Remy from CFKWC

On November 10, 2018, Cops for Kids with Cancer (CFKWC) donated $5000 to a Duxbury family. 4-year-old Barry C Tufts III, aka "Remy", was diagnosed with B Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in May of 2018. In support of him and his family, Cops for Kids with Cancer representatives, DPD personnel, and community members escorted Remy and his family from their house to DPD to present them with a check. The money donated by Cops for Kids with Cancer generally goes towards helping with day-to-day expenses to make their lives easier during these difficult times.

For those interested in supporting Cops for Kids with Cancer, you may donate directly on their website. Additionally, the Marshfield Police Department and Massachusetts State Police will be hosting their fourth annual fundraiser for the organization at Haddad’s restaurant in Marshfield on November 15 from 5-10pm. Last year the event raised over $36,000 for Cops for Kids with Cancer. Please join us for an evening of great food, music, raffles, auction items, and more – all while helping to raise money for local families in need! It is $20 per person at the door; kids under age 12 get in for free.

Duxbury Police Department and several other local departments are also participating in 'No Shave November' in support of CFKWC. You can read more about No Shave November here.
