July 4th Road Race

Finish time: 10:00AM

An annual family-friendly 5K takes you around scenic Powder Point in Duxbury. Register and get more information at the DEF website. There will be traffic delays along the road race route (see below) during the time period above.

There will be approx. 1,000 runners taking part in the 4th of July 5K Run. It will start in the parking lot of the Lt. Steele Field House on Saint George St. From there it will travel left onto Saint George St. to the flagpole, left onto Powder Point Ave., right onto King Caesar Rd., left onto Weston Rd., right onto Upland Rd., around to Powder Point Ave., and back to the parking lot of the Lt. Steele Field House.
 

July 4th Parade and Detours

Start time: 2:00PM
Estimated finish time (depending on exact start time and volume of participants): ~5:00PM

Traffic will be restricted from entering Halls Corner from 12:00 pm to approximately 2:30 pm. (This will depend on the exact start of the parade)

Chestnut St. will be OPEN for traffic exiting and entering Halls Corner until 12:30 pm, after traffic will be detoured though Pilgrim Byway.

Depot St. at Pilgrim Byway will be CLOSED at 12:30 pm to traffic entering Halls Corner.

Bay Rd. at Bay View Rd. will be CLOSED at 12:30 pm to traffic entering Halls Corner.

Starting at 12:30 pm Washington St. will be CLOSED in sections starting at Halls Corner and will continue as the parade proceeds down Washington St.

Halls Corner will be opened as soon as the parade clears the corner at approximately 2:30 pm.
