Sergeant in Charge

A Sergeant is a ranking officer designated to command each shift. They are responsible for the immediate supervision, control and deployment of officers under their command. This officer makes sure that the shift runs to the best of its ability, and ensures a high quality of police service in the community.

Regional Old Colony Communications Center

Duxbury has certified E-911 telecommunicators who answer and dispatch all calls for police, fire, and emergency medical services, process inquiries through the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles, search state and federal criminal history, and document activity using state of the art Computer Aided Dispatch technology.

Station Officer

This officer has the same responsibilities as a Patrol Officer; however he or she is assigned to the Station. They have the additional responsibility of booking prisoners, coordinating any information from Dispatch to Patrol Officers, and handling any police related incidents generated from the lobby and or phone.
