PRESS RELEASE
Rape Aggression Defense
Program
Duxbury Police Department
is proud to offer R.A.D. Program. R.A.D. is a self-defense course specifically
for women and girls 13 years and up.
This course differs from
other self-defense programs in that it provides a foundation of risk reduction
through avoidance strategies in addition to active defense tactics. Because
this class emphasizes awareness as well as self-defense, it addresses the threat
from both a stranger and an acquaintance perspective.
Our next session will run three (3)
evenings from 6pm-9pm with the dates being Mondays, June 2nd, 9th
and 16th to be held at the Senior Center Ellison Room. Just $25.00 per member
-- a lifetime return and practice invitation anywhere there is a R.A.D. Program
being offered.
R.A.D. applications may be
picked up, filled out and dropped off at the Duxbury Police Department. For
further information, please contact Sgt. Kristin Golden or Paddi Donato at 781
934-5656 x25.
Keep a watch out for our
upcoming RADKids Program in the near future.
