Duxbury Police Receives AAA Community Traffic Safety Award

On December 16, 2016, the Duxbury Police Department received the Gold Award in recognition of outstanding achievements in traffic safety. The Duxbury Police Department throughout the past year has been actively committed to traffic safety not just through enforcement but through education using several different programs. Officer Wigmore has been a big part of the departments traffic safety, through traffic enforcement and as a member of the Highway Safety Committee.

Nominated by Chief Clancy, Sergeant Friend Weiler received the American Automobile Association Community Traffic Safety Hero Award. Sergeant Weiler has been the department’s Child Passenger Safety Technician for over ten years. Sgt. Weiler installs and/or inspects 10 to 12 car seats a month. Sgt. Weiler also educates and demonstrates the proper use and advantages of the many different car seats.
