About Chief Matthew Clancy Chief Clancy joined the Duxbury Police Department in May of 2010. A native of the South Shore, Chief Clancy started his career as a part-time patrolman in Rockland, Massachusetts before entering the profession full-time with the Mashpee Police Department on Cape Cod. Chief Clancy served on the Cape for over 16 years before his appointment as the Chief of Police in nearby Plympton Massachusetts. Chief Clancy commanded the Plympton Police Department for eight years before leaving to accept the position of Police Chief here in Duxbury. The Chief holds a Master's Degree in Criminal Justice from Boston University and a Bachelor's Degree from Western New England College. Chief Clancy, his wife, Holly, and family reside in Rochester, Massachusetts.
